St Paul’s Junior School has an active and enthusiastic Parent and Teacher Association. Getting involved with the PTA is a great way to be part of the school community and to raise money to support the children’s education. PTA funds are used to buy classroom, playground, and specialist equipment, and to reduce the costs of school trips and in-school events. Our activities also help to bring parents, children, governors, and teachers together to encourage friendships, partnerships, and a positive sense of community.
The 2023/2024 PTA Committee currently is:
- Chair: Angela Crabtree
- Vice chair: Prajakta Kataria
- Treasurer: VACANT – please contact the PTA for an informal chat if you are interested in taking on this rewarding role
- Secretary: Suzanne King
- Vice-Secretary: Samira Rafiq
- Co-Opted Member: Zahra Khan (MATERNITY LEAVE)
- Volunteer Coordinator – Paula Sherlock
- Second Hand uniform coordinator – Petra Kourtparasidis
What are we up to?
Every year we organize our school’s annual events – such as the Bake Sales, Summer Fair, Christmas Fair and children’s discos including the Year 6 Leaver’s disco.
Many of our parents and carers have joined the PTA volunteers WhatsApp group, which is amazing, but we must continue this succession plan ready for when the current PTA members step down. Now is the time to get involved and safeguard the future of our PTA. Your PTA and the school really do need you!
What else can you do to help?
- Help us out at an event or prepare for one
- Become a ‘class rep’ – share info and communicate
- Do you have any fundraising ideas?
- Speak to your employer to see if they will kindly donate a prize for a raffle
- Does your employer offer Match Funding?
- Use Easy Fundraising and Amazon Smile to raise money when you shop online.
- Follow us on social media and spread the word!
How can you get involved?
If you are interested in joining the committee and helping to organise events / activities to raise money for the school, please email us and/or join our WhatsApp group.
We typically meet once a term to plan for the next few months. Meetings are usually in the evenings and are currently being held using Zoom.
