News and Events

St Paul's works with the West Berkshire CAMHS Mental Health Support Team (MHST) for Children and Young People. This team is working with schools across West Berkshire to support children and young people with emerging, mild, or moderate mental health difficulties which may be affecting day-to-day life. Depending on the age of the child or young person, CAMHS MHST may work either directly with them or with their parents.  They also work with school staff and offer support on different levels to develop and support a whole school approach to mental health.

The CAHMS MHST deliver a range of evidence-based brief interventions directly that can last between 8 - 12 weeks, as well as advice on where to find the most appropriate support when we are unable to offer direct help.

In primary school, MHST education mental health practitioners typically offer parent-led and guided self-help interventions Helping Your Child with Fears and Worries and Incredible Years Parenting Programme.

Support for school staff

CAMHS MHST educational mental health professionals provide regular consultations to our school. This is where our Senior Mental Health Lead can bring any case they feel may be appropriate to the MHST. The team will advise where to find the most appropriate support if they are unable to offer direct help.

Referrals to CAMHS MHST

As St Paul's is an MHST School, referrals will be made via an education professional within our school.

Parent/carers can also refer their child by using the referral form below.

If you would like further information on how to access this service or you would like the school to make a referral for your child, please contact Mrs Linda Tritton, St Paul's Senior Mental Health Lead. You can also follow the link for more information.
