Wednesday 22nd October

9am

The children had a lovely, calm start to the day in their classrooms with their teachers. Spirits were high, and there was a real buzz of excitement in the air!

By the time bags and bodies were all boarded, the coaches set off at 10.48am. The journey to Liddington takes approximately an hour and I will let you know as soon as they arrive.

I’m delighted to say that Year 6 have arrived safely at Liddington! The coach drivers were full of praise for our fabulous pupils, commenting on their excellent behaviour throughout the journey — well done, Year 6, what a brilliant start!

First things first: the children are now being put into their activity groups and finding out their room numbers so they can stow away their belongings. After that, they’ll enjoy a packed lunch together before heading out for the afternoon.

So what’s in store for our adventurers?

Groups 1, 2, 3 and 4 will be taking on Aeroball and Abseiling

Groups 5, 6, 7 and 8 will be soaring on the Zip Wire and exploring through Orienteering

Aeroball- Imagine bouncing on a trampoline while trying to score goals in mid-air — that’s Aeroball! It’s a wild mash-up of trampolining, basketball, and volleyball. Fast-paced, full of laughter, and packed with teamwork, this high-energy game is a favourite for unleashing competitive spirit and having a blast!

Abseiling - Pupils will take on the mighty 10-metre wooden tower, walking backwards off the edge with just a rope to guide them safely down. It’s a thrilling challenge that builds trust, courage, and confidence — and the cheers from below make it all the more rewarding!

Zip Wire
Strapped in and ready to fly, pupils will soar across the sky on this heart-pounding ride that pushes boundaries and brings out boldness and bravery!

Orienteering
Map in hand, adventure awaits! Teams will navigate the site in search of hidden control points, putting their brains and teamwork to the test. It’s a race against time and a chance to show off those navigation skills to see who will be the first to crack the course?

I will keep you updated with more news as the fun unfolds!

2.58pm
The first photos are rolling in, and the excitement is building! Mrs Harris was devastated to hear the Giant Swing wasn’t on the activity list for St Paul’s… but plot twist! A last-minute change to the schedule means the Giant Swing is officially back on the agenda this afternoon!

The Giant Swing at PGL Liddington is one of the most thrilling and talked-about activities on offer — and for good reason!

It’s a high-adrenaline group challenge where two or three participants are harnessed into a giant swing and hoisted up to 10 metres in the air by their teammates. Once at their chosen height, someone pulls the ripcord… and whoosh! They plummet in a fast, exhilarating arc through the air!

4.18pm
All is well at Liddington - everyone is having a BRILLIANT time! The children have just headed off to their final activity of the afternoon, before visiting the dining room for the first time at 6pm.

With all of the exercise and fresh air, the children are working up a huge appetite, ready for dinner! Tonight’s menu includes:
·        Chicken Tikka Masala
·        Homemade Cottage Pie
·        Vegetable Korma
·        Penne Pasta with Tomato sauce and Grated Cheese
·        Rice
·        Sweetcorn
·        Green cabbage
·        Bread
·        Salad
·        Raspberry Jelly
·        Fruit

I'm off to a meeting now and so the next update and photos will be posted after 7pm tonight.
