Thursday 23rd October

Good morning all,

PGL Liddington is a fabulous venue and, having previously been a hotel, offers accommodation and facilities that are ideal for residential visits. As you can see from the photos, the site is vast, with plenty of outdoor space for the children to explore, enjoy activities and burn off energy between sessions. The facilities are excellent throughout!
The food at Liddington is also excellent, and the centre caters for a wide selection of dietary requirements. There is always a wide ranging menu with lots choice and plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables available with every meal.
8.00am

All is well in Liddington. the children and staff slept well and woke to a dry morning. The breakfast slot is actually 7.50am and not 8.50am, as previously reported, but I am reliably informed that this still means that this still means that everyone manages to get a good lie in.

The children have consumed their body weight in cereal, cooked breakfast, toast, fruit and yoghurt and are about to go back to their rooms to get ready for today's activities.

More news later.
9.04am

The sun is up, the sky is blue and the children are already meeting today's challenges head on!
11.15am

All is well at Liddington but we are having technical difficulties uploading any photos at the moment - worry not, we are currently working on resolving the problem and will find a way to post everything as soon as we possibly can.

To save you having to keep checking back, we will send a parentmail once we have rectified the issue.

In the meantime, a message for you from the children, "Having a brilliant time, wish you were here!!!'

Thank you for being so patient - we seem to be able to upload photos once more, even if the system is VERY slow!
5pm

As you can see, the children are having a whale of a time!  Another yummy lunch gave the children plenty of fuel for another busy afternoon of activities. The menu included a choice of hot dishes with salad and vegetables, followed by a dessert selection and fresh fruit. There was something to suit everyone, ensuring that the children were well fed and ready for the challenges and excitement that lay ahead.

Zip Wire - The zip wire is always a favourite! Children climb to the launch platform before whizzing through the air at speed, enjoying a bird’s-eye view of the surrounding site. It’s an exciting activity that encourages confidence, resilience and a sense of adventure.

Canoeing - During canoeing, children take to the water in stable canoes, learning how to paddle, steer and work together as a team. The activity develops coordination, communication and problem-solving skills, while providing plenty of opportunities for fun on the water.

Disc Golf - Disc golf combines elements of traditional golf with the skill of throwing a flying disc. Children aim for specially designed targets around the course, practising accuracy, concentration and perseverance as they navigate each hole.

AeroBall - AeroBall is a fast-paced and energetic activity that combines trampolining with basketball. Children bounce high above the ground while trying to score points through hoops, making it a fantastic way to build balance, coordination and teamwork. It is always full of laughter, friendly competition and plenty of bouncing fun! There has been so much fun and laughter this afternoon as the children have thrown themselves into some truly adrenaline-filled activities. From soaring through the air on the zip wire to testing their skills on the water, every challenge has been met with enthusiasm, determination and plenty of smiles. As you will see from the photos, the children are having a brilliant time and should be incredibly proud of all they have achieved so far. Whether tackling something completely new or building on existing skills, they have shown courage, resilience and a fantastic willingness to step outside their comfort zones. The happy faces say it all!

The silent disco is always one of the most popular evening activities. Equipped with wireless headphones and a choice of music channels, participants can sing along, dance with friends and enjoy plenty of cool tunes. It's the perfect way for the children to chill and unwind after a very busy day of activities.

Rumour has it that last night the staff were dusting off their dancing shoes and preparing to strut their Strictly-worthy stuff! Whether their moves are ballroom brilliance or not remains to be seen. I will of course keep you posted.

More news tomorrow - sleep well.
